Do you love Chocolate? Let the candy shop that has been in business for over 60 years treat your sweet tooth! Charles McDonald opened his first candy store in 1941 in Muskegon on Sophia Street. Larry Sieplinga bought and moved the business in 1969 to our location on Getty Street. After owning McDonald's for 30 years, he sold the business to Nancy Wagenmaker, the current owner who started as a teenager washing kettles, serving customers, and learning to make chocolates.
She still makes candy and chocolates the old-fashioned way - from scratch - using real butter, sugar, cream, and fresh roasted nuts. We do not use any preservatives in our chocolates, using the original recipes and methods to bring you fresh and delicious chocolates and candies that are made in our kitchen on site. We are part of a group called Synergy, consisting of small businesses including gift shops, art galleries and speciality food stores, who share problem solving, marketing ideas, and keeping our stores unique with customers coming first. McDonald's Candies provides our customers with fresh, just made, melt in your mouth taste that will make you feel great when you're celebrating and so much better when you're having a "bad" day.
